“Precious waste” is an exhibition proposed by the Cité des sciences et de l’industrie, which begins Tuesday, December 5. “Precious” because the exhibition focuses on the potential of this waste and its recovery. We talk about it in franceinfo junior with CM2 students from the Pierre and Marie Curie school in Garges-lès-Gonesse in the Paris region. To answer them: Flore Berlingen, environmental activist who led Zero Waste France for seven years and co-founder of the Polluter Pays Principle Observatory.
The first question goes to Wassim and Irfa: “How much waste is there in France today and per year throughout the world?” ask the young interviewers. Grayce wonders “who invented waste” ? It’s Younes’ turn to speak: “When we throw away the waste, how long does it take until it is buried in the ground?” asks the CM2 student. “Because of the waste that was thrown away by many French people, could this create a natural disaster?” he continues. “Why don’t we put waste in space?” suggests Irfa. Finally Wassim wonders how to produce less waste.
