The attack on Crocus City Hall, which left nearly 140 dead on Friday March 22 in Moscow, was claimed by the Islamic State organization. Cyrille Bret, geopolitician, associate researcher at the Delors Institute and teacher at Sciences Po Paris. He is a specialist in terrorism and international relations, answers questions from our young interviewers of the day, aged 8 to 13 years old.
“What is Daesh?” Anna wants to know first. Louise wonders “why do terrorists do such extreme things?” “What is their ultimate goal other than killing?” continues Paul, 8 years old.
“Why did Daesh attack Moscow?” Clemence continues. “Why is Putin trying to blame the Ukrainians?” adds one of the young interviewers of the day.
Margaux wonders “why the Russians did not believe the American secret services who had warned them”.
“Are the terrorists numerous and still have plenty of means to continue and start again?” Louise finally asks.
