They slip into the role of journalist every day by asking questions on the Franceinfo Junior show, but do they really know this job? The children of franceinfo junior are talking about it this Wednesday, during “Press and Media Week in Schools”.

To answer their questions about the profession of journalist, franceinfo junior invited Jean-Marie Charon, media sociologist and author of the survey, into the studio Young journalists – the hour of doubt, published in November by Entremises editions. He is interviewed by students from Compère Morel college in Breteuil in Oise.

The first question goes to Steffie: “What studies do you need to do to be a journalist?” asks the schoolgirl on the microphone.

“What is the average salary of a journalist in general?” Anaïs wants to know. The following question concerns verification of information: “Is it possible for a journalist to spread false information?”

“Are journalists viewed favorably by the government?” Sophia asks.

On this page, listen again to this franceinfo junior program in full. It was recorded as part of the media literacy workshop “The editorial staff of franceinfo junior” at the House of Radio and Music.
