Tomorrow, Thursday November 18, will be a big day at Beauval Zoo, in Saint-Aignan (Loir-et-Cher), that of the naming ceremony for the two baby pandas born last August in this zoo. Delphine Delord, general manager of the zoo, answers the questions ofhe pupils of CM2 classes at the Picpus elementary school of application, in Paris.
“Why are they forced to change their first names?”, asks Clémence. “I would like to know why the baptism of these two pandas is so important and if the species is really so threatened?”, asks Elsa. In turn, Ibrahima takes the floor and is interested in the guests of this ceremony: “Why were these athletes, Kylian Mbappé and the Chinese swimmer, chosen to be the godfather and godmother of these pandas?”
