Throughout the year, during media education workshops, the team of franceinfo junior hosts classes. For students, it is also an opportunity to visit the editorial staff of franceinfo and its studios.
This Thursday, journalist Boris Loumagne answers questions from CM2 students at the Henri Wallon school in Palaiseau (Essonne). He explains his latest reports in the field of war in Ukraine, a country where he went three times to tell what is happening there, at the microphone of franceinfo. In September, for example, he documented the discovery of a mass grave in Izioum.
Speaking to the journalist, Camille wants to know “if it’s dangerous where you’ve been”. It’s Lisa’s turn to speak: “Who really are the good guys and the bad guys between Russia and Ukraine?”, asks the CM2 student. At the microphone, Moustapha asks how the journalist managed to cross the borders of Ukraine, despite the conflict. A question of language and translation then: Mohammed asks the journalist how he did “to understand Ukrainian”. The opportunity for Boris Loumagne to talk about the role of fixers in reporting.
