They are 10 years old and full of questions about centenarians. CM2 students from the Pierre and Marie Curie school, in Garges-lès-Gonesse in the Paris region, take the microphone in franceinfo junior this Wednesday, May 1. Their questions are put to France Meslé, research director at INED (National Institute of Demographic Studies). She is co-author of the recent INED study on centenarians.
“How many centenarians are there in France?“, Jade asks. “Nearly 31,000, replies the guest, This is a figure that has increased significantly in recent years.“.
Jade also wants to know the age of the French dean. For her part, Aliyah wants to know in which country there are the most centenarians, and if there are more women than men.
The last question goes to Aida: “What is the age at which most people die?”
On this page, listen again to this entire program on centenarians and super-centenarians.
