It is a new victory for the French at Junior Eurovision: this Sunday, November 26, 2023, the 21st ceremony of the Junior Eurovision Contest was held in Nice, co-hosted for the occasion by Laury Thilleman and Olivier Minne. And once again, France managed to win ahead of all the other countries, and won its third trophy, thus equaling the record held by Georgia, which won the 2008, 2011 and 2016 editions. These last four years, France has won three times: with Valentina in 2020, with Lissandro in 2022 and now with Zoé in 2023.
Zoé Clauzure and her Heart title narrowly won ahead of Spain, but came out on top on both sidesboth from the jury and the public: with 228 points, Zoé does better than Lissandro who won Junior Eurovision 2022 with 203 points, and does better than Valentina, who had reached 200 points. It’s a points record for France, which won ahead of Spain (201 points), Armenia (180 points) and the United Kingdom (160 points). At the end of the ranking, Ireland (42 points) and Estonia (49 points) were very far behind the rest of the title contenders.
Will Slimane do the same next May?
Since its return to Junior Eurovision, the French delegation, headed by Alexandra Redde-Amielsucceeds every year in establishing itself brilliantly: in addition to Valentina, Zoé and Lissandro, our other representatives have all imposed themselves in the top 5: Angelina came 2nd in 2018, Carla Lazzari came 5th in 2019 and Enzo came third in 2021. See you now in May 2024 for the Eurovision contest, which will be represented by Slimane, with the title My love. We bet that the winner of The Voice will do better than La Zarra, Bilal Hassani or Dear, which have been somewhat disappointing in recent years. If France shines at Junior Eurovision, it is clear the contrast with the Eurovision contest…
