To help the Turks, France sent, on Sunday February 12, a field hospital and 45 tons of medical equipment to the Adiyaman region.
They are 87, firefighters and civil security rescuers, to embark on Sunday February 12, in Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône), heading for Turkey. At the same time, in Roissy (Ile-de-France), 45 tonnes of medical equipment and a field hospital are loaded, ready to be sent to the Adiyaman region (Turkey). The device will be installed and managed by rescuers used to natural disasters. “There are surgeons, doctors, pediatricians, biologists to take blood samples. We are completely autonomous in terms of health to provide care and relief”explains François Pradon, Civil Security Chief of Staff.
Difficult weather conditions
The field hospital, called ESCRIM, is 1,000 m². It contains two operating theaters and can accommodate 100 patients per day. Material and medical aid already deployed during health or humanitarian disasters, such as in 2010 during the earthquake in Haiti or during the Covid-19 pandemic. However, this time it will be necessary to adapt to difficult weather conditions.
