The French government reiterates its recommendation to French nationals to “not to travel to Israel and the Palestinian Territories”, because of “risks of military escalation in the Middle East”according to a message published Thursday, August 1 on the website of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs.
“It remains formally recommended that French nationals, except for compelling reasons, not travel to Israel and the Palestinian Territories, including for tourist and family visits,” writes the ministry. It calls “French people passing through Israel and the Palestinian Territories” has “the greatest vigilance” and asks them to register on Ariane’s Thread and “to stay away from any gathering.”
Some “red zones”, these areas where it is “strictly not recommended” to surrender, have also been “extended”. These are the areas near the border with the Gaza Strip and the border with Lebanon, defined as “areas of military operations by the Israeli army”according to the ministry. “No travel, whatever the reason”is not allowed in these areas.
