France registers more than 104,000 new cases in the last 24 hours, an all-time high

The explosion was expected, but it is no less impressive. Public Health France recorded 104,611 new cases of Covid-19 contamination over the last 24 hours, Saturday, December 25. On a rolling average over one week, this represents 72,299 cases per day over seven days. The previous Saturday, the agency had recorded 58,536 new cases, while Friday was marked by the announcement of 94,124 new positive cases.

The 50,000 mark was passed on December 4 and this figure has therefore doubled in three weeks, according to data from the health agency. And this while the French have massively tested themselves before spending the end of year holidays with their families.

Public Health France also reported in its latest bulletin 760 new hospitalizations in the last 24 hours, or 1,217 new hospitalizations per day on average over the last 7 days.
