France is the second European country with the most electric charging stations. There are 100,000 charging sites, with a distribution that remains quite uneven, however.
It is a car park, which has taken the turn of the electric, at the gates of Vénissieux (Rhône). For six months, if you have the loyalty card of this supermarket, it is possible to connect free of charge to the charging terminals made available in the car park and these additional terminals are not welcome. Many motorists complain about the lack of bollards, and yet the situation is improving. The country now has more than 100,000 terminals open to the public. In Europe, only the Netherlands do better.
4,000 installations per month this year
“Until 2020, we installed 4,000 terminals per year, in 2021, 20,000 and since the beginning of 2023, it is 40,000 per month“, maintains Clément Molizon, general delegate of Avere-France. These terminals are first in the car parks of shops, then come the public car parks and finally, the edges of the road. The terminals at home are not counted in this calculation. But the problem remains in the geographical disparity. Île-de-France, with 18,667 terminals, is much better equipped than its neighbors.
