French authorities have decided to no longer require a negative PCR test of less than 48 hours for travelers coming from China, according to a press release published Thursday, February 16 by the French Embassy in Beijing. This measure was taken in early January in the face of the outbreak of cases in the Asian country.

“As of February 16, travelers from China to France are no longer required to present the result of a negative RT-PCR test less than 48 hours old as well as the declaration on the honor relating to Covid-19”according to the press release. “Random screening on arrival is also abolished”adds the text, which specifies that wearing a surgical mask on board aircraft remains compulsory.

These measures, which concerned travelers aged 11 and over, had been imposed in early January when the Asian giant was faced with a surge in Covid cases after the lifting of its health restrictions in early December. Like France, the United Kingdom, Italy or even the United States had taken this kind of precaution, which has since been gradually lifted.
