Photography: France lights up thanks to the Northern Lights – (France 2)
The Northern Lights have been visible for several days in the French sky. The 13 Heures has compiled the most beautiful photos.
On the evening of Sunday, November 5, near Calais (Pas-de-Calais), the sky was suddenly adorned with a supernatural light. The aurora borealis, initially purple, gradually transformed into a hypnotizing green wave. A little further away, in Arras, the photographer captures a moment suspended between earth and sky. The thousands of points of light are particles, charged with electricity, coming from the Sun.
A phenomenon close to the poles
The phenomenon was visible in many places such as in Auvergne or in Cher, or even near Fréjus (Var). Usually, the phenomenon is observed closer to the poles. On Sunday, November 5, the sky was set ablaze in multiple places such as Ireland, Scotland, and even Switzerland. In Slovenia, the camera was pointed right into the geomagnetic storm.
