The pollens are back in force and very early in 2023. Journalist and doctor Damien Mascret takes stock of the 12/13 set, Monday February 27. “It’s not yet spring and yet almost all of France is already at red risk – high risk – of pollen allergy, according to the national aerobiological monitoring network”he says. “It does not really surprise asthma and allergy specialists who recall that tree pollen is now emitted from February”adds the journalist.
Several factors involved
According to the doctor, several factors favor this early emission of pollen: “global warming” And “pollution because the CO2 emitted promotes the growth of pollen”. The result is clear: “Nearly one in three French people now have allergies and it will probably be one in two in 2050”concludes Damien Mascret.
