France formalizes its candidacy to organize the tournament in 2025

Will France host the Women’s Euro 2025? In any case, this is the wish of the FFF. The Football Federation has just formalized its candidacy for the organization of the competition. The host country will be decided by UEFA in December 2022.

The FFF “will be based in particular on the success of the organization of the Women’s World Cup” in 2019, specifies the federation in a press release. France, host of the men’s final stages of the 1998 World Cup and the 1984 and 2016 European Championships in recent history, has never organized this competition. In contrast, France hosted the Women’s World Cup in 2019.

16 nations in the final phase

The final phase of the European Women’s Championship will bring together 16 nations and will thus make it possible to attend 31 matches in eight stadiums. The FFF explains that it already has “already launched the consultation process which will soon designate the stadiums selected to host this Euro”.

During the 2019 World Cup, the cities of Le Havre, Lyon, Nice, Paris, Montpellier, Grenoble, Reims, Valenciennes and Rennes hosted competition matches.
