France won the bronze medal in the men’s 4×400 meters relay at the European Athletics Championships in Munich on Saturday, its seventh medal.
Gilles Biron, Loïc Prévot, Téo Andant and Thomas Jordier finished in 2 min 59 sec 64, being beaten by the British relay, titled in 2 min 59 sec 35, and by the Belgians.
Placed in second position in the wake of the British by the solid passages of Prévot and Andant, Thomas Jordier (28) did not manage to worry the leaders, being overtaken in the final stretch by Dylan Borlée, who brought to his brother Kevin a 7th European medal, the 5th in the relay.
The Blues managed a better time than at the World Championships in Eugene (United States), where they took 7th place last month (3:01.35). The tricolor men’s relay thus regains the European podium that it had missed during the last two editions (2016 and 2018).
