After 20 years of collaboration, skipper Francis Joyon will soon be landed by his historic sponsor Idec for 20 years, learned France Bleu Breizh Izel from concordant sources on Friday April 7. In fact, the Morbihannais will lose his maxi-trimaran Idec Sport, with which he notably won the Route du Rhum in 2018 and set many records on all the seas of the globe.

For 20 years, since 2003, the images of Francis Joyon and Idec, builder and designer in logistics real estate, have been associated.

According to sources familiar with the matter, Francis Joyon is far from wanting to end his career as a sailor at 66. With his crew, he is looking for new projects because neither the skipper nor his crew are employees of Idec. All are self-employed and service providers, they will end up at the dock. Contacted by France Bleu Breizh Izel, Idec does not deny the information while explaining that discussions on the future of the boat are in progress.
