The ocean, a world to explore

The Adventurers of the Sea Festival is October 12 to 16 on the Lorient La Base site and at the Cité de la Voile Eric Tabarly to honor the maritime adventurers of the 21st century.
Faced with climatic and societal challenges, men and women from all maritime backgrounds are looking for solutions, innovate and, by their visions and actions, re-enchant our world. For 5 days, adventurers, scientists, explorers, navigators, directors, photographers, artists, will be present to exchange, discuss and meet.

This 7th edition will be an edition unique since it is concocted in close collaboration with the Morbihan Science Festival (coordinated by the Space of Sciences/Maison de la Mer) and the Tara Ocean Foundation around several highlights: The ocean, a world to explore

* 4 event days at Lorient the Base about maritime adventures, science and the oceans
* 3 villages on the Lorient La Base site: the Village of the Aventuriers la mer festival at the City of Sailing, the Ocean Science Village in the K2 bunker and the village ” Tara’s embedded artists in the current music scene, Hydrophone.
* Wednesday October 12 : Opening of the festival outside the walls at the Lorient Theater with “Dancing the ocean”: an encounter with the Catalan choreographer Aina Alégre and the director Vincent Bruno followed by the screening “Living on the threshold”.
* Thursday October 13 and Friday October 14 (schoolchildren), Saturday October 15 and Sunday October 16 (general public): This is science fair with a magnificent Ocean Science Village in the K2 bunker, Lorient La Base: entertainment and experience on the program.
* Thursday, October 13, 6 p.m. : Inauguration of the festival at the Cité de la Voile with the meeting “Oceans and climates: the role of the oceans in climate change?” ” with Jean Jouzel and the Tara Ocean Foundation
In the Flore S-645 submarine museum bunker, come and discover the screening of “Ice Dreams” with JVD.
* Friday, October 14 will be devoted to the maritime, inventive, eco-citizen projects of tomorrow: the day maritime initiatives.
* Saturday October 15, 3:30 p.m.: the return of the schooner Tara in Lorient after three years of expeditions around the world on the “Microbiomes: understanding the invisible people of the ocean” mission and a rich program for all, throughout the weekend.
* Sunday October 16: an emotional festival closing with thea site-specific choreographic performance by Catalan choreographer Aina Alegre in Bunker K3 and and the meeting with the Endurance 22 Expedition Team, who discovered more than 100 years after the wreck of Schakleton’s ship!
