France Bleu Azur tests summer hikes in the Alpes Maritimes: Circuit de Tortisse

Direction the Circuit de Tortisse

Despite the fairly high altitude, this hike is carried out in complete safety thanks to the legacy of an excellent network of pedestrian routes traced by the Waters and Forests in the 1930s.

The paths were then used to serve the mountain pastures and to restore the slopes eroded by overgrazing and secular deforestation.

The discovery of the row of Vens lakes from the Tortisse collar, as well as the panorama of the Italian Val Stura with Mount Viso in the background (3,841 m), but also the large fauna, trout fishing, generous flora of the alpine level, the persistent snowfields of the high peaks, will embellish a course taking place entirely in the heart zone of the Mercantour National Park starting from the pastoral hamlet of Le Pra.
