On airport runways as in city centers, it is no longer rare to come across foxes. The 20 H of France 2 explains the reasons for this proliferation.
It’s an amazing scene: on the tarmac at Orly airport (Val de Marne)in the middle of the planes, a fox allows himself to be filmed. According to the authorities, there are about fifty of them living on the 1,500 ha surrounding the tracks. Even more surprisingly, we see them today in French city centers and urban areas. The mayor of the commune of Champigny-sur-Marne (Val de Marne) published practical advice for residents on the website communal.
If the predator invites itself into the cities, it is because its natural habitat is threatened. In urban areas, the fox finds everything it needs for its survival. The naturalist Marc Giraud explains that they do not have to hunt to find food, and that they can reproduce in municipal parks. Local authorities point out that the fox is a wild animal that should not be tamed.
