The prosecution of the Paris Criminal Court on Friday March 4 requested four years in prison, including one year, against the mother of Foued Mohamed Aggad, one of the Bataclan terrorists. She was judged for sending money to his son in the Iraqi-Syrian zone before the attacks of 13 November.
13,000 euros and a package
For more than seven hours, the Paris Criminal Court looked into a file “irrigated” by the documents of the investigation into the attacks which left 130 dead in Paris and Saint-Denis, the trial of which has been continuing since September .
At the helm, Fatima Hajji, the mother of Foued Mohamed Aggad repeats that she supported “supported his son, and not the cause”. In total she would have sent him seven installments for an amount of more than 13,000 euros, as well as a parcel between August 2014 and August 2015. His son also spoke to him about “pay smugglers” to leave war zones according to her.
A story disputed by the president of the chamber. In the regular messages he sent to his mother, Foued Mohammed Agad often expressed his desire to stay in the Iraqi-Syrian zone to fight. He would even have told him that if he returned to France, it would be for “do something dirty”.
A complicit blindness
Fatima Hajji, 54, has “placed filial love above all”, supported the prosecutor at the end of the hearing, requesting his conviction for terrorist financing four years in prison, one of which is closed. A fine of 5,000 euros is also requested to sanction a “accomplicative blindness”.
The defense lawyer argued that the defendant had a “panic fear” for his children and that his judgment had been “obscured” by a “terrible smokescreen”.
The decision was adjourned until Wednesday, March 9.
