(Raleigh) Goaltender Pyotr Kochetkvov had his contract extended for four years for eight million by the Carolina Hurricanes on Wednesday.
“Pyotr has been extremely solid with us and our AHL affiliate since arriving in North America last season,” Hurricanes general manager Don Waddell said in a statement.
“We believe he has a bright future and we’re thrilled to see him flourish, both as an individual and as a player. »
The 23-year-old Russian is 2-0-2 with a 2.00 GAA this season.
Both losses were suffered in overtime.
In 2021-22, he posted a 3-0-0 record and a 2.42 GAA.
The former KHLer had his first career shutout Nov. 14 in Chicago, helping his team win 3-0.
Kochetkov was a Hurricanes second-round pick in 2019.
