With almost 100 million monthly listeners on the streaming platform Spotify, pop singer Taylor Swift has become one of the most powerful artists in the music industry. His new album The Tortured Poets Department, announced during the Grammy Awards ceremony at the start of the year, comes out Friday April 19. This project promises to break new records and excite its fans. The singer has already slipped many clues and at the same time blocked the leaks so that the surprise is total.

An album (again) about his ex

The dominant theory of The Tortured Poets DepartmentOr The Circle of Tortured Poets in French, would open up about the singer’s ex, the British actor Joe Alwyn. The name of the album would also be taken from a group discussion called “The tortured man club” (“The club of the tortured man”, in French) that the actor held with Paul Mescal and Andrew Scott, two other actors. The list of songs, 16 in total, already gives some clues: So Long, London (Goodbye London), I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can) (I can change it, no really I can) and The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived (The shortest man who ever lived) – an English man does indeed seem to be involved in the affair. Returning, without taking any gloves off, to her former companions has also become a tradition for Taylor Swift, song after song. The current elected official is American football star Travis Kelce, recent Super Bowl winner. And for him, the new album “It’s incredible“. It contains collaborations with American rapper Post Malone and British rock band Florence + The Machine.

A temporary installation in Los Angeles with clues

In collaboration with Spotify, Taylor Swift installed a temporary library littered with objects labeled TTPD, the initials of her album title. A typewriter, dried flowers and bookcases filled with books titled with songs from the album, are the first clues detected by fans since the creation of the installation on Tuesday April 16. Before the opening, a long queue of curious people had already formed. Protected by a window, an open book reveals certain lyrics from new songs by The Tortured Poets Department. Scattered sentences of which we still know neither the meaning nor the melody.

Leaks blocked by

On the social network X, formerly Twitter, it is now complicated to search for potential leaks of Taylor Swift’s new album. When you type “Taylor Swift leak”, an error page appears. We can understand that the platform blocked these keywords to prevent potential leaks from being disseminated. No new title has yet leaked, just a few hours before the official release of the album. This was not the case for Midnight, Taylor Swift’s previous album. Many titles had circulated 24 hours before their release.

Fake pieces generated by artificial intelligence

In recent weeks, Swifties, Taylor Swift’s fan community, have spotted an album with the title The Tortured Poets Department on Spotify and Deezer. Is this a leak? More like a fake album generated by artificial intelligence, and the copy is misleading. This fake version diverts the real titles from Taylor Swift’s new album. The title Fortnight is renamed Fortnite or the song My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys turns into My Girl is My Toy.
