These individuals have all gravitated towards the activities of the Blood Family Mafia (BFM), led by Dave “Pic” Turmel, who is believed to be hiding in Portugal.

Among the objects seized, we find “narcotics, ammunition, ballistic vests and things related to drug trafficking and armed violence,” adds Ms. Savard.

The police concentrated their efforts in Beauport and Lac-aux-Sables, in a joint operation with the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).

The four people arrested on Sunday remain detained and three of them are expected to appear in the afternoon at the Quebec City courthouse.

These arrests were made as part of the MALSAIN project launched by the SPVQ in 2019 and which aims to counter the increase in violence linked to drug trafficking.

Eight other people linked to this conflict appeared yesterday by videoconference at the Quebec courthouse.
