four people including three police officers in intervention die in a traffic accident

A road accident killed four people, including three police officers, on Sunday May 21 on departmental road 700, at Villeneuve-d’Ascq (Nord), announced the Nord prefecture in a press release.

“During an intervention this Sunday, May 21, 2023, a national police vehicle
been involved in a road traffic accident on the RD 700″, says this press release. Three officials from the Roubaix police station died in the accident, as well as “the driver of the second vehicle”.

A “civil person supported by the civil servants located at inside the vehicle” was “in absolute urgency” Sunday morning, and was transferred to the Roger Salengro hospital in Lille, specifies the prefecture. The press release also mentions a passenger in the second vehicle “in absolute urgency”and transferred to the Lille hospital center.

“All my thoughts go out to the families of the victims to whom I send my condolences. Full support for the injured”declared the Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin.
