The disciplinary committee has decided. Following the homophobic chants sung at the Parc des Princes on Sunday September 25, during the match between Paris Saint-Germain and Olympique de Marseille, four Parisian players were in the sights of the Professional Football League (LFP), which was meeting , Thursday October 5.

As a reminder, Randal Kolo Muani, Layvin Kurzawa, Ousmane Dembélé and Achraf Hakimi sang an insulting homophobic song against their Marseille rivals. The four PSG players received a suspended match suspension, because the comments were considered offensive but not discriminatory according to the League. The sanction takes effect from Tuesday October 10.

PSG was also summoned for homophobic chants from supporters of the Parc des Princes still during this PSG-OM: in this part, the Auteuil stand was closed for a closed match and another suspended. The sanction takes effect immediately.

PSG denounces an “excessive measure”

For its part, PSG “deplores that the disciplinary committee has decided to apply an extraordinary sanction by pronouncing the closure of the Auteuil stand for two matches, one of which is suspended. The Club regrets that the committee has chosen an excessive and collective measure of a nature to undermine the work of dialogue and prevention undertaken by the Club with associative, institutional actors and supporters”indicated the Parisian club Thursday in a press release, specifying that it will not appeal and that it “intends to continue the work it is carrying out with those committed against discrimination to change mentalities”.
