The identity of four of the victims of the fire that occurred on March 16 in Old Montreal was revealed on Monday, the same day that Montreal firefighters and police officers extricated two other victims from the rubble.
The permanent coroner responsible for this investigation, Géhane Kamel, has confirmed the identity of four people in their thirties who perished in this fatal fire which occurred in a three-storey heritage building. They are An Wu (32), Dania Zafar (31), Saniya Khan (31) and Nathan Sears (35). These names are added to that of Camille Maheux, 76, who was the first victim of this fire whose identity was revealed last week.
“In addition, this morning, we located and extricated two other victims from the rubble, bringing the number of victims found to date to seven,” said Inspector David Shane, of the Montreal Police Department, during of a press briefing.
