Four Italians, suspected of being smugglers, were arrested on the night of Saturday to Sunday on the road to Mont-Cenis (Savoie), reports France Bleu Pays de Savoie on Monday August 1. According to the first elements of the investigation, these forties were trying to bring nine foreigners of Syrian nationality into France.
At 3:10 a.m. on Sunday, border police and mobile gendarmes intercepted two vehicles occupied by these four individuals and the nine Syrians, including six adults aged 24 to 39 and three children aged 1, 3 and 10.
All were taken to the premises of the border police in Modane. Syrian nationals have been ordered to leave French territory. The four Italian smugglers will have to explain themselves to the Albertville court next March.
