Victorious in the second stage on Monday, Alexis Vuillermoz took the lead in the general classification of the Critérium du Dauphiné. The French rider from TotalEnergies will try to keep his yellow jersey, Tuesday June 7, for the third stage, between Saint-Paulien (Haute-Loire) and Chastreix-Sancy (Puy-de-Dôme). 169 kilometers long, it presents a rugged profile similar to that of the day before. The finish will be at the top of a second category pass, after a 6.2 kilometer climb at an average of 5.6%.

This third step should suit a puncher. Now fourth overall, will Wout van Aert (Jumbo-Visma) get the icing again? It will also be necessary to count on Rémi Cavagna (Quick-Step). The “Clermont-Ferrand TGV” hopes to triumph on its land.
