“Four matches”, Mille Milles | The duty

Within himself as if it were a forest with a thousand paths, Vincent Legault continues to explore his part of the unknown, guided haphazardly by reverberant sounds, until he meets his own “little girl with matches”, which enlightens her as best she can in the corridors of her memory and the recesses of her most intimate feelings. One can hardly imagine a more solo project than this, and Vincent Legault, of the Dear Criminals, does not seem to be at the end of his inner journey. It is at the third stage, after an album and a microalbum in 2020: a bouquet of more or less linked pieces where the piano beats to the rhythm of the heart, the vocalizations of Évelyne de la Chenelière serve as a binder, and the instrumentation baroque (quartet of strings, winds and woodwinds, bass) draws the emotions revealed. Most memorable, ball games, melodic marvel, seems ready to receive words: next time, maybe? We will see on September 9 and 10 at the Society for Technological Arts what will become of the current adventure.
