Believing “that you have to know how to end a strike”, Elisabeth Borne ordered on Tuesday, October 11, the requisition of the personnel essential to the operation of the fuel depots of Esso-ExxonMobil. The Prime Minister considers that the continuation of the strike is not acceptable since the two majority unions of the group have signed an agreement with the management of the group. Despite this threat, the strike at the Esso-ExxonMobil depot in Port-Jérôme was renewed on Wednesday morning.

The CGT condemns this government decision. “I note that despite the declarations of the President of the Republic on his desire to listen better, he chooses not to listen but to force to challenge the right to strike”, lamented on France Inter Philippe Martinez, general secretary of the union.
