Météo-France has once again placed the Nord, Pas-de-Calais, Somme and Seine-Maritime regions on orange alert for high winds for the evening of Sunday February 20, two days after the passage of storm Eunice, which caused extensive damage in the region.
These departments must be affected between 8 p.m. Sunday and 1 a.m. Monday by a “new stormy episode circulating rapidly, of less intensity than the recent storm ‘Eunice’, however requiring special vigilance”, writes Météo-France in its Sunday morning bulletin. This episode will be marked by a “very active cold front” with gusts “generally between 100 and 110 km/h with possible peaks at 120 or even 130 km/h”, associated with strong waves on the Channel coast.
If she did not kill in France, Eunice cost the lives of at least 16 people in Europe (the Netherlands, Poland, England, Germany, Belgium and Ireland).
