New attack on a school in the Gaza Strip. Hamas announced that four people were killed on Sunday, July 7, in an Israeli strike that once again targeted a school, run by the Latin Patriarchate in Gaza, sheltering displaced people. “Another day. Another month. Another school targeted.”wrote Philippe Lazzarini, head of the United Nations agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) on the social network X.

This raid comes the day after the “heinous massacre”denounced by Hamas, after the death of 16 people, killed in an Israeli strike on a school sheltering displaced people and managed by the UN. A spokesman for the Gaza Civil Defense assured that“Ihab al-Ghussein, Deputy Minister of Labor, is among those killed” in this attack.

The Israeli army said in a statement that “terrorists” were hiding in this school, which also housed “a Hamas weapons manufacturing plant”. “This place served as a hideout and operational infrastructure from which attacks were carried out against soldiers”she said in a statement, adding that “numerous measures have been taken to reduce the risk of harm to civilians”Hamas has repeatedly denied Israeli accusations that fighters were hiding in civilian facilities.

Nearly 190 UNRWA-run facilities have been affected since the start of the war, with some damage “unprecedented in the history of the UN”Juliette Touma, a spokeswoman for the agency, told AFP. “Any strike against UN facilities is shocking and there has been a flagrant disregard for international humanitarian lawshe denounced, When the war started, we closed the schools and they became shelters.”
