Formula E: Pascal Wehrlein wins the third event

The Porsche team achieved a perfect double with Pascal Wehrlein and André Lotterer on the first two steps of the podium at the Mexico ePrix on Saturday.

Wehrlein started from the leading position, but was snatched away by Edoardo Mortara (Venturi) and Jean-Éric Vergne (DS Techeetah). Lotterer started on the third rung. The two German teammates stayed within reach of the leaders and managed to conserve enough energy in their single-seaters.

The Porsche drivers took the lead with 15 minutes left in the race and didn’t look back afterwards. They crossed the finish line nine seconds ahead of their pursuers.

Vergne completed the top three and he was followed by his own teammate, Antonio Félix Da Costa.

The Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez hosted the third round of the Formula E championship and so far nine different drivers have finished on the podium. In the standings, Mortara dominates with 43 points, five ahead of Mercedes driver Nyck de Vries and 13 ahead of Wehrlein and Lotterer.
