Formula 1 | The 2025 season will consist of 24 races and will begin in Australia

(Paris) The 2025 F1 calendar already revealed! The season will include 24 Grands Prix, the same as in 2024, but will begin in mid-March in Australia and not in the Gulf, the championship organizers said on Friday.

Melbourne to host inaugural round of 76e edition of the Formula 1 world championship from March 14 to 16, then the paddock will travel to China the following week, before stopping at Suzuka at the beginning of April.

Bahrain, the scene of the season launch for several years, was postponed to mid-April, a week before the race in Saudi Arabia, due to Ramadan, which will take place in March next year.

Unlike this year, these two rounds will return to the usual format of an F1 weekend with the race on Sunday. Only the Las Vegas GP at the end of the season will take place on a Saturday.

The rest of the 2025 calendar will be very similar to that of 2024, with some slightly modified dates such as the Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona brought forward to early June or that of Hungary postponed after the race in Belgium, just before the summer break.

Three “triple-headers” (three consecutive race weekends) will be on the program with Japan, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia in April, then Imola, Monaco, Barcelona at the end of May-beginning of June, finally Las Vegas, Qatar, Abu Dhabi to conclude the season at the end of November-beginning of December.

The paddock will also have to carry out five “back-to-back” (two Grand Prix weekends in a row) during the year.

However, F1 has not yet revealed the number of sprints or the circuits which will organize them. The dates and location of the pre-season tests are also unknown, although they are likely to take place in Bahrain as in recent years.

In 2026, the calendar will include at least one new feature with the arrival of Madrid, which will host the Spanish Grand Prix on a street circuit. Others could follow, perhaps to the detriment of certain historic routes such as Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium), whose contract with F1 expires in 2025.
