One more Quebecer makes his place in Formula 1. The Williams team announced on Tuesday the appointment of Frédéric Brousseau as director of operations.
Brousseau, who has worked in the aerospace industry at Pratt & Whitney Canada for the past 26 years, will join his new team in April.
“There is no better feeling than to embark on a whole new adventure, towards the realization of your dreams”, reacted the Quebecer by way of press release.
Holder of a bachelor’s degree in aeronautical engineering from the University of Sherbrooke and a graduate of HEC Montréal in business administration, Frédéric Brousseau began his career at Pratt & Whitney Canada in 1997. Over the years, he has held numerous operational roles and management. In particular, he was general manager of the Mirabel Aeronautical Center, where engines are produced for the Airbus A220 commercial aircraft.
Since April 2022, Brousseau has held the role of vice president of operations at Pratt & Whitney. Among other things, he was in charge of overseeing activities related to industrialization projects, the global supply chain, manufacturing and engine assembly operations in Canada, Poland, China and India.
“It’s been an exciting start to the season and I can’t wait to join a team with such a great Formula 1 heritage. I’m looking forward to getting started and helping to build the future of the organization alongside the entire Williams Racing team. »
According to Williams Chairman Matthew Savage, Brousseau is an “energetic and experienced leader who can help transform Williams Racing.” “I expect him to contribute significantly to the development” of the team, he added.
Williams had an interesting, if not surprising, start to the season at the first Grand Prix of the season in Bahrain, as Alexander Albon picked up a point by virtue of his 10e place. His teammate, Logan Sargeant, took the 12e rank.
