Formula 1 | Ferrari to power Haas until end of 2028

(Kannapolis) Formula 1 team Haas has extended its engine partnership with Ferrari through the conclusion of the 2028 season.

Haas said in a statement released Tuesday that the deal will provide “long-term engine stability” as major changes to the premier motorsport series’ regulations are adopted in 2026.

To ensure sustainable development, the 1.6-litre V6 turbocharged hybrid internal combustion engines will make greater use of the power coming from the hybrid components.

Ferrari has been Haas’ engine supplier since their partnership began in 2016. The Hungarian Grand Prix, which takes place on Sunday, will be their 179e together.

“I am delighted to extend our partnership with Scuderia Ferrari through to 2028,” said Haas Team Principal Ayao Komatsu. “Ferrari has been instrumental in bringing our program to fruition from the very beginning and continues to be a valued technical partner to us.”

Haas will offer a ride to young British driver Oliver Bearman next year, as German Nico Hulkenberg has chosen to join Sauber ahead of his conversion to Audi in 2026.

Danish driver Kevin Magnussen will likely be replaced by Frenchman Esteban Ocon at Haas, in a swap of seats with the Alpine team.

Haas sit seventh in the constructors’ championship this season with 27 points, having picked up an impressive 20 points over the last two races.
