In a small village in Allier, on Saturday July 13, a 20-year-old man was celebrating his birthday. A man opened fire on his family and friends, killing the young man, his father and his godfather.
The party was in full swing on Saturday, July 13, in a house in Espinasse-Vozelle (Allier) where a 20-year-old man was celebrating his birthday with his loved ones. But gunshots occurred just in front, on the path that connects his home to that of the alleged killer, a few hundred meters below. Seven victims were found on the path, including three dead and four seriously injured. The alleged killer is believed to have committed suicide.
This man, a 57-year-old former soldier, is apparently unknown to the justice system. He lived alone in his house surrounded by surveillance cameras, and was searched on Sunday, July 14 by the police. Those who knew him describe him as angry and isolated. The exact circumstances and motive for this killing are still unclear. An investigation for murder and attempted murder has been opened.
