Former Macronist Secretary of State Laurent Pietraszewski will chair the board of directors of Casino once its buyers led by Czech billionaire Daniel Kretinsky take control at the end of March, according to the distributor’s financial documentation published Tuesday March 12 in evening.

The new board of directors of Casino, appointed “provisionally” before ratification of the appointments at the next general meeting of the group, will be chaired by Laurent Pietraszewski. Philippe Palazzi, whose appointment as general manager had been known for several months, will also be a director of the group.

Laurent Pietraszewski, former Secretary of State for Pensions and Occupational Health during Emmanuel Macron’s first term, had previously worked for the northern distributor Auchan.
