Former reality TV star Nabilla launches a kitty to support Gisèle Pélicot, before being unavailable

The story of this woman raped by dozens of men while she was drugged by her husband moved the star who decided to help her finance her legal costs. At the request of the victim, she was suspended on Friday.

This woman was a victim for nearly 10 years of her husband who drugged her and brought in strangers recruited on the Internet to abuse her while she was inert. The trial in this case opened on Monday, September 2 in Avignon, where 51 defendants are appearing.

“I decided to create this kitty for Gisèle Pélicot. Madam, I was deeply touched by your story, I admire your courage and your strength. While the goal is to reach 100,000 euros in donations, the kitty showed, on Friday, September 6, nearly 40,000 euros collected… before being suspended. The Leetchi page indicates that the ““Cash pot is unavailable during verification”. LGisèle Pélicot’s lawyers have in fact published a press release specifying that the family does not wish “in no way the opening of online support kits“, demanding the closure of those already open.

“Mrs. Gisèle Pelicot and her family, whom we represent before the Avignon Criminal Court, thank all the people who have sent massive messages of support from all over the world since the start of the trial. Nevertheless, our client absolutely wishes to preserve the dignity and serenity of the debates currently taking place before the Vaucluse Departmental Criminal Court. She therefore calls today for the greatest moderation on social networks, does not want any online support kitty to be opened and requests the closure of those already open.“, write lawyers Stéphane Babonneau and Antoine Camus.

Immediately, Nabilla posted a message on X indicating that the kitty was closed.After speaking with Mrs. Pélicot’s lawyers: she thanks us for all the support provided. However, she does not wish to accept the kitty at this time and does not want to disrupt the ongoing trial. We respect her decision and are closing it immediately. Each donor will be reimbursed in full and without fees. We wish her a lot of courage in this ordeal and bring her all our love“, we can read.

The star shared her initiative on her various social networks, X and Instagram, where she also explained her approach. “I’ve been having trouble sleeping for several days. I can’t believe that a woman could have suffered so much. I’m very touched by your story and I have so much respect for you, Gisèle Pélicot. You have unwavering strength and courage.” she wrote.

The star continues the messages, thanking her community for already actively mobilizing, writing: “You are our heroine“, followed by the keyword #GisèleMazan.
