former PSG player Younousse Sankharé says he is threatened by his club Giresunspor and “worried” for his safety

The images he transmitted to The Team to warn about his situation are eloquent: in the locker room of the club, while all the places intended for the players are provided with training equipment, the place reserved for Younousse Sankharé is empty. As if the 32-year-old midfielder, trained at Paris Saint-Germain and passed through Dijon, Valenciennes, Guingamp, Lille or even Bordeaux, was not part of the club.

It’s a real nightmare described by Younousse Sankharé in an article published by The Team on its site on Tuesday evening. In this interview, which he gave to the sports daily, the French midfielder calls for help: his situation at Giresunspor is desperate and he says he fears for his “security“, threats having been made against him in recent weeks.

After six months at Panathinaikos (Greece) last year, Sankharé joined Turkish club Giresunspor on August 10. A club promoted to the Süper Lig (the first local division), Giresunspor then secured the services of an experienced midfielder. And the Frenchman thinks he can play an important role in his new team. In reality, the adventure will quickly come to an end from a sporting point of view.

Sankharé has not played in the Championship since November 1, banned from the workforce. But it is off the field that the shoe pinches. Since this last appearance in the Süper Lig, Sankharé explains that the situation between his club and him has deteriorated. Among the facts described by the player, not confirmed by the club which did not respond to requests from The Teama request for a pay cut that he would have accepted, before being fined, most of them unjustified, as well as unpaid wages.

Accusations to which must be added psychological pressure described by the player: he can train but therefore has no business available, and in the video sent to The Team, he explains that the club cut the electricity in his apartment. “There, there is daylight, so you can see. But at night, it’s really scary“, describes the player.

Even more worrying, Sankharé says to himself “worried about [sa] security“. The midfielder assures that the president of the club, Hakan Karaahmet, would have threatened to reveal his address: “He said to me: ‘I have been holding the supporters for a long time. From now on, if something happens to you, it will no longer be my problem’“.”I am not calm at all. Honestly, I don’t know what to do“, deplores Sankharé.

Despite the possibility of leaving in January during the winter transfer window, Sankharé did not leave Giresunspor to settle the situation from a financial point of view with the club. He claims two uncollected salaries in December and January. In order to find a solution, the French midfielder, in the midst of a nightmare, turned to his lawyer, who, according to The Team two formal notices to Giresunspor during the month of December.
