former Prime Minister Edouard Philippe curtly snubs Anne-Elisabeth Lemoine in “C à vous”

The discomfort was palpable on the set of It’s up to you this Tuesday, February 8, 2022… And for good reason, the former Prime Minister Édouard Philippe did not mince his words in the face of questions from Anne-Elisabeth Lemoine. Asked about a poll which gave him greater popularity than that of Emmanuel Macron, the one who passed the torch to Jean Castex in July 2020, responded brutally to the presenter of the show. “That’s a silly question”he blurted out.

“The question may be silly, but the answer of the French, is it silly? » reacted immediately Anne-Elisabeth Le moine. “Sorry…I shouldn’t say that…The question isn’t silly, it doesn’t make any sense”retorted Édouard Philippe before justifying his remarks. “I think we can’t integrate the answer. That’s what I meant.” corrected the former right-hand man of the head of state. “We are putting someone who has been sticking to it for four years in competition (Emmanuel Macron, editor’s note) […] and someone who is retired from business and doesn’t have to make complicated decisions… Sorry, but that doesn’t make sense”, he concluded…

During the show, the former Prime Minister also reaffirmed his support for Emmanuel Macron. “No suspense, everyone knows he is going to be a candidate”, declared the one who is now at the head of his own political party, Horizons.
