He will have to explain his role in the riots in Brasilia. Far-right former Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro “will have to be auditioned by the federal police” within ten days in the case of the riots of January 8 in the Brazilian capital, ordered a judge of the Supreme Court, Friday April 14.

On January 8, thousands of individuals refusing the defeat of Jair Bolsonaro stormed the Presidential Palace, the Congress and the Supreme Court, a week after the inauguration of the new left-wing head of state Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva. The assailants had easily crossed the security cordon to ransack everything in their path. The violence in Brasilia recalled the invasion of the Capitol two years earlier in the United States, by supporters of Donald Trump refusing to accept his defeat by current American President Joe Biden.
