Former Nordiques and Capitals player Réginald Savage has died, according to social media posts.
On Facebook, accounts presenting themselves as former coach John Paris and Sonia Savage, Reginald’s sister, announced his death.
In her publication, Sonia Savage speaks of a “dazzling cancer”. “His end of life will have been like his journey on Earth, he will have fought until the end,” she writes.
Choice of 1er Capitals tour (15e in total) in 1988, Savage played 34 games in the NHL, including 17 with the Nordiques in 1993-1994. However, he had a long career in the American League and the now defunct International League. He had six 30-goal seasons in the AHL.
Savage also played a few seasons in Switzerland and Italy.
