Former LREM deputy Sira Sylla sentenced for moral harassment and unfair dismissal

The former La République en Marche deputy for Seine-Maritime, Sira Sylla, was sentenced by the Rouen Labor Court for moral harassment and unfair dismissal of one of her former parliamentary collaborators, reports France Bleu Normandie, Tuesday, September 6. It must pay him 80,000 euros in compensation and damages.

The complainant told France Bleu Normandie that his “period of reconstruction” was going to be able to start now, after living through three years of long days, violent remarks, bullying, texts and calls in the middle of the night or during his holidays.

At least two other former collaborators accuse him of similar facts

“MPs are not just employers. MPs are also representatives of the people and when these MPs practice harassment at work, these are things that must be denounced judicially and publicly, it concerns everyone. in reality”, he claimed. Asked by France Bleu Normandie, neither the former elected nor her lawyer responded. They have ten days to appeal.

Sira Sylla, who came from “civil society” and was elected in 2017, is accused of similar facts by at least two other of her former collaborators. She has already been condemned by the Conseil des prud’hommes of Paris to compensate a former collaborator, but she appealed. A third plaintiff was dismissed by the Conseil des prud’hommes de Rouen in August 2021.
