CF Montreal has named former Impact player Gabriel Gervais as president and CEO of the club.

Gervais, 45, was until now associated with the Montreal office of Deloitte, one of the largest professional services firms in the world. He will officially take office on Monday, April 4.
“During the selection process, we met several extremely competent and qualified candidates, but Gabriel stood out, among other things, for his depth, his values, his humility and his team spirit,” added Saputo.
Holder of a master’s degree in engineering from Syracuse University, he completed a master’s degree in business administration (MBA) at McGill University. He is fluent in French, English and Spanish.
A native of Montreal, Gervais played for the Montreal Impact from 2002 to 2008. He notably helped the team win the USL First Division championship in 2004, as well as the regular season championships in 2005 and 2006.
The former number 8 was also part of the squad that won the Canadian championship in 2008. The Impact then became the first Canadian team to qualify for the preliminary round of the Concacaf Champions League. He was chosen the club’s Defender of the Year three times (2002, 2003 and 2006). He also won the Giuseppe-Saputo trophy in 2004, awarded to the team’s most useful player.
He was named USL Premier League Defender of the Year in 2003, 2004 and 2006, becoming the first player in the league to win the title three times. He was also selected to the USL D1 All-Star Team for six consecutive years, from 2002 to 2007. His successive performances earned him the U.S.L. D1 Player of the Decade award. the USL.
