Former ASSE midfielder Jean-Luc Ribar died on Thursday March 17, at the age of 57. The native of Roanne had known the relegation of the 80s then the return to the first division. He had scored 24 goals in 137 games in the green jersey between 1983 and 1987.
The footballer had continued his career in Lille, Quimper, and Rennes where hip problems had forced him “to hang up his cleats at 30 and retrain. This basketball enthusiast ran several cleaning companies in his hometown, indicates AS Saint-Étienne which mourns the tragic and sudden passing of his former player.”
His memory will be honored this Friday evening before kick off of ASSE-Troyes. The supporters of the Geoffroy-Guichard stadium will be invited to respect one minute of applause.
