In the 1990s and 2000s, the phenomenon of boy bands had invaded the whole world. In France, the most popular were 2Be3, Alliage, Worlds Apart and G-Squad. Adored by all young girls, these young singers then sold millions of records and filled large concert halls with their songs as light as they were iconic.
If these groups have gradually disappeared from the screens, some former members have decided to try a comeback. Indeed, Chris Keller, Allan Théo and Frank Delay now form “Génération Boys Band” and perform on stage to the delight of those nostalgic for that boy band era.
This Saturday, May 7, 2022, Steve from Worlds Apart, Chris from G-Squad and Brian from Alliage were precisely on the set of TPMP People to discuss this former musical phenomenon. Chris Keller, who was the only member of his group to sing at the time, made revelations about what he was able to win, an estimated sum of several million francs. If he tried to make his money grow, it unfortunately ended in failure: “I wanted to invest in a recording studio. And I completely screwed up. It didn’t work at all” he confessed. “I am someone who invests with passion. I have no return on investment at all in what I undertake in my life. When I buy, it is only passion. I am a very bad manager” he continued.
Having no more to live on, Chris Keller then thought of quite simply working in a large DIY store before finding a great opportunity in the musical universe: “At the last moment, someone called me: ‘Est you interested in being part of a band?’ I got into private parties, weddings, bar mitzvahs, etc.” he concluded.
