The former secretary general of Force Ouvrière (FO) Pascal Pavageau, as well as two ex-members of his team, were sentenced this Tuesday to fines ranging from 1,500 euros to 4,000 euros by the Paris Criminal Court in the part of the affair of the registration of several union officials during his campaign for the general secretariat of the union between 2016 and 2018, reports the franceinfo journalist on site.

Last September, the Paris prosecutor’s office requested suspended prison sentences for the three defendants. This Tuesday, the criminal court therefore sentenced Pascal Pavageau, former boss of the union, to a fine of 4,000 euros.

Cécile Potters and Justine Braesch, members of his campaign team, were fined 2,000 euros and 1,500 euros respectively for unfairly collecting personal data. On the other hand, the three were acquitted for the offense of “illegal retention of personal data beyond the previously planned period“.

Pascal Pavageau, 54, was elected head of FO in April 2018 following Jean-Claude Mailly and he resigned 6 months later, after the revelation by The chained Duck of this file, which had caused a serious crisis within the 3rd French union. Nearly five years later, the three defendants were tried for four offenses, including having collected personal data by fraudulent means.
