Former FC Sochaux-Montbéliard player Jacques Zimako is dead

FC Sochaux Montbéliard loses one of their own. Jacques Zimako is dead Wednesday, December 8, a few days away from his 70th birthday. The New Caledonian was a player in Sochaux from 1981 to 1983. Jacques Zimako wore yellow and blue during 62 league games and scored 8 goals. He was also the first Kanak football to wear the France team jersey between 1977 and 1981. Zimako had scored 92 goals in 388 appearances in Division1.

The left winger, nicknamed “Zig Zag” had played for SC Bastia and AS Saint-Étienne before joining FCSM, to end his professional career in Bastia.
